About

The Integrated Security Department (ISD) is responsible for all physical security components on the Oakland campus. Staffed by highly skilled technicians, advanced programmers, and an experienced administrative staff, the department maintains a sophisticated infrastructure that insures that proper safety and security applications are provided to the entire University community.

Security Systems

Access control, Intrusion Detection, CCTV, and other security applications are implemented in 86 buildings on and off campus.

Systems may be monitored 24/7 by the University of Pittsburgh Police department which utilizes the platform to respond to a number of issues such as:

  • Access alarms
  • Panic alarms
  • Intrusion detection
  • Violent threats
  • Fire emergencies
  • Other related building evacuations, as well as other acts with cause for concern

Services

ISD operates 24/7 with on-call technicians who are always available to respond to reported problems. We are consistently improving our technical ability, and have recently invested in enhanced network configurations, aggressive system operations monitoring, and a redundant datacenter for full application failover contingency.

ISD Services include:

  • Design and implementation of systems
  • Continued service and maintenance
  • Research and development of future solutions
  • Capitol planning
